It is right near Southbank 50 metres and across the road from the Langham hotel and right next to Eureka Towers. The rooms are equipped with a bar fridge, kettle, microwave, and kitchen sink. The hotel has vending machines with snacks and icecreams, and they sell beverages for you to have in your room. There is also a laundry where you are able to wash and dry your own clothes. The staff are very friendly and very accommodating to any request. For the very reasonable price, this is a must-stay hotel when visiting Melbourne.

We had a disabled-accessible room which was wheelchair-friendly with a roll-in shower. This is a nice area to visit in a wheelchair, with good access without barriers from the room to the Southbank area on the Yarra. For access to the greater Melbourne area, there is a taxi rank across the street. It is a three-star sort of place of recent construction, with buffet-style breakfast served for a fee. You can find a less-expensive breakfast at nearby Southgate.
We have stayed at this TraveLodge five times in five years when we come for the Australian Open tennis, and will keep coming back for a good dependable place to stay at reasonable prices. The hotel reception staff were helpful and courteous.
The cleaning staff kept our rooms need and tidy and greets us when they see us. I asked for a heater and the hotel manager offered to deliver one to our room without hesitation.
Will stay again in Travelodge, Southbank on our next visit to Melbourne. We will certainly use this hotel every time we travel to Melbourne in the future. We were first-time users and had read reviews of other travellers in which almost all were happy with it and we would have to agree. The position is its best feature as it is in Southbank, close to the river, the centre of the city, trains, trams and buses. Even the free shuttle bus stops nearby. The room was larger in size than we expected and most comfortable.
We heard no noise at all the four nights we were there and it was useful to be able to heat up light meals in the microwave. Overall, it was excellent value. Apart from being so convenient to both the City and Flinders Street Station we have been very happily booked into Travelodge Southbank.
From the friendly greeting from all members of staff to our departure and nearby car parking the stay has always been A1. Over the years we have had varied floor levels of accommodation and each and every one has been comfortable, modern and clean. It is so easy to be a "tourist" with most attractions within walking distance. Living down the Mornington Peninsula we usually drive up to the City and the arrangement with the nearby Langham Hotel car parking is economical and convenient in comparison to City car parking!!

Had a great stay, staff were really friendly and helpful. Loved the location, and those Water Taxis to the Tennis - What a gem of an idea!! Will definitely be back next time I am in Melbourne.. Was travelling with my brother so we had two rooms here for several nights before driving up the coast.
The hotel is ideally situated a couple of minutes walk from the buzzing Southbank riverside restaurants etc.. A footbridge takes you over the river to Flinders St station making it handy for sightseeing.
If you are arriving from the airport and catch the Skybus into Melbourne, use their hotel shuttle which drops you across the road from the hotel. Our rooms, and I think, all rooms, had a small kitchette with kettle, microwave, crockery etc. Very useful, especially if you were travelling as a family. I only needed to stay here a couple of nights, to meet up with friends, on my way through to Canberra. This hotel was perfect for that. It is located right next to the Southbank shopping complex where there are plenty of choices of restaurants and a food court, where you can just eat and chat.
The train station is also in walking distance, which was very handy. The hotel staff arranged the Skybus to get me back out to the airport, which is a much cheaper option than the taxi I took on the way in.
The room I was in was on the smaller size, but it was quiet and clean - suited me nicely. Beyond the train station was the city centre, where we were able to take the trams in every direction we chose - this, too, was in walking distance from our hotel.
I will definitely stay at Travelodge Southbank again when passing through next time. I was only in Melbourne for less than 24 hours and didnt need much more than a comfortable bed for a short sleep before my outgoing flight. The Travelodge delivered this. I didnt have many expectations for the reasons stated above, but there were no problems at all.
Check-in was fast and easy, with the lady at reception very helpful in providing me directions to where i wanted to go that evening. Rising very early the next morning, check-out was also fast and easy, and with taxis waiting outside, my trip to the airport was painless.
Overall, a very positive experience and i will stay here again next time i am in Melbourne. I found this hotel perfect for me, I was only in Melbourne for a meeting. If you don't know Southbank, well it is full of restaurant and things to see and do. Just meters away from the casino if that is your thing. I had a hire car, the only down side is the hotel dose not have its own car park however they give you a ticket for one across the road, this would be a pain if you had a lot of luggage.
I got in late and was tied, I didn't feel like heading out for dinner, so I order from one of the near by restaurant that the hotel there menu in the room. I couldn't believe how fast they get there and it was good. Over all great place to stay, value for money, I will stay again.
The housekeeping department were excellent, I'd go out at 9am for breakfast and arrive back at about 11am and the room would be made up. The room it was good value for money as it was in a good spot.
It was within walking distance to the CBD, Restaurants and cafe's etc, but it wasn't noisy unlike staying in the city. My first stay here , and happy with my choice. Fairly standard Hotel room ,however everything worked and is very clean , comfortable and modern. I visit Melbourne as often as possible , and most likely I will stay here again too. We were staying in Travelodge during the week leading up to Chinese new year. Plenty of activities organised in the CBD and Southbank.
Staying closed by allowed us to participate in the different activities and yet allowing breaks to re-charge ourselves in the hotel. Especially important since we were travelling with a toddler.
